On April 29, 1955, Helmut Frick laid the foundation for a company that is now regarded as a reliable mechatronics system partner for demanding OEM customers when he established "Feinmechanik Anstalt" in Schaan. What began as a small workshop with just a few machines was characterized from the outset by precision craftsmanship, technical expertise, and the courage to break new ground.
Over seven decades, this approach has resulted in the development of an internationally networked group of companies. Not through fleeting trends, but through continuous development, in-depth technical knowledge, and a team that takes responsibility – for quality, solutions, and customer relationships.
Technology in transition – always looking ahead
The path of FMA Mechatronic Solutions has been marked by change from the very beginning. In the early years, the company produced cable winches and coffee machines for the automotive sector. This was followed by solutions for aluminum measurement technology and components for automotive and medical technology.
With each new stage of development, not only did technological expertise grow, but so did an understanding of complex requirements along the entire value chain. Today, FMA develops and manufactures mechatronic assemblies and system solutions that are characterized by precision, process reliability, and industrial scalability.

The Stefan Dürr era was a defining milestone in the company's development. For more than 35 years, he played a decisive role in shaping the development of FMA as managing director, owner, and strategic pioneer. Today, he works behind the scenes as co-owner and member of the board of directors together with the investment company LIBERTA – with confidence in the operational team and a clear vision for the long term.
This combination of experience, technical excellence, and a corporate culture based on partnership continues to shape FMA to this day. Decisions are not made on a short-term basis, but with foresight – always mindful that sustainable success is based on stability, competence, and cooperation.
